Jean Beauvoir est un chanteur, bassiste, compositeur et producteur américain.
Biographie
Né à Chicago (États-Unis) de parents haïtiens, il partit à 15 ans à New York et devint, par l'intermédiaire d'une petite annonce, le bassiste des Plasmatics. Il les quitta après quatre albums pour rejoindre Little Steven & the Disciples of Soul (le groupe de Steven van Zandt), avec qui il sortit deux albums, puis entama une carrière solo.
Il est notamment connu pour son tube de l'année 1986, Feel the Heat, qui se plaça n° 73 du Billboard Hot 100. La chanson fut retenue par Sylvester Stallone comme thème du film Cobra.
Il a travaillé, notamment comme producteur et compositeur, avec des artistes comme Kiss, John Waite, The Ramones, Nona Hendryx ou Nile Rodgers.
Il a en outre fait partie de groupes comme Crown of Thorns et Voodoo X.
