Biographie de Young Jeezy

Young Jeezy est un rappeur américain. Son vrai nom est Jay Jenkins, il est né le 28 septembre 1977 à [[Columbia (Caroline du Sud)en Caroline du Sud]. Aussi connu sous le surnom de "Snowman"(en référence à la cocaïne, car dans l'argot américain, la neige définit la coke), son ancien blaze (pseudonyme) était "Lil J". Autrefois dealeur, il est maintenant l'une des figures majeures du dirty south, la scène rap du sud des États-Unis.

Son enfance

Bien que Young Jeezy soit né en Caroline du Sud, il passa la plus grande partie de son enfance dans la ville de Macon, en Géorgie (État), pas très loin d'Atlanta. Il déménagea plus tard à Atlanta, à West 4th Ward. Le chanteur n'aime pas trop s'attarder sur son enfance, celle-ci reste donc assez vague. On sait juste qu'il était un dealeur de cocaïne et qu'il était très probablement affilié à la Black Mafia Family, gang notoire d'Atlanta.

Carrière musicale

Young Jeezy n'aime pas être défini comme un rappeur, mais plutôt comme un trappeur, d'où le titre de son single Trap Star car selon lui, son vrai rôle est de décrire l'univers de la rue.

Il a sorti son premier album Fuggin' under the influence sous le nom de "Lil J" en 2001 et quelques artistes de renom y furent invités, tel Lil Jon. Deux ans après, il sort toujours en indépendant son second album Come Shop wit'Me, qui s'écoule à 50 000 exemplaires dans le Monde.

En 2004, P.Diddy le signe chez Bad Boy, il joint alors le groupe Boys N Da Hood. C'est par l'intermédiaire de ce groupe que Jeezy va connaître le succès, et l'album éponyme du groupe sorti en 2005, va atteindre la 5 place au Billboard Hot 200.

Jeezy avait entre-temps signé chez Def Jam, il sort alors le 26 juin 2005, soit 5 jours après l'album des Boys N Da Hood son troisième album Let's Get It : Thug Motivation 101 qui vend 172 000 copies et se classera 2 dans les charts la semaine de sa sortie.

Young Jeezy a été également invité sur de nombreux singles à succès tels Icy de Gucci Mane, Say I de Christina Milian. En 2006, Jeezy sort The Inspiration avec des artistes reconnus : T.I., Keyshia Cole, R.Kelly et Three 6 Mafia. Son single I Luv It se classe 14 au Bilboard Hot 100. Son dernier album The Recession sortie en 2008 est classé n°9 des ventes aux États-Unis, avec 719294 d'exemplaires écoulés dans la même année.

Vie privée et anecdotes

Young Jeezy a un fils de 13 ans qui vit avec sa mère, Tynesha Dykes. En 2005, son ex-compagne l'a assigné en justice pour l'obtention d'une pension.
Le 12 mars 2006, Jeezy s'est fait arrêter à Miami pour port d'arme, alors qu'il n'a aucun permis.
Après l'ouragan Katrina, Jeezy a laissé quelques réfugiés de La Nouvelle-Orléans s'installer provisoirement chez lui.
Young Jeezy est sorti avec la chanteuse Keyshia Cole
Young Jeezy possède de nombreuses voitures comme : Lamborghini Murciélago,Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari F430,Ferrari 360 Modena,Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Chevrolet Corvette C6.
Young Jeezy a déclaré qu'il serait l'effigie de la nouvelle collection de montres Technomarine.
